How to stop Facebook from recognizing your face?

Last July 7, Facebook officially launched their face recognition features called “Tag Suggestions” that will place your name you on photos that you and your friends upload. Facebook said from a blogpost that TAG SUGGESTION aims to make photo tagging easy, specially if there are a lot of people that you need to tag. With this new feature, there have been a lot of privacy concerns that were raised specially with Facebook’s reputations.

So if you don’t want Facebook to recognize you and keep your sanity, just follow the steps after the break:

1. After logging in to your Facebook account, on the upper-right corner click on ACCOUNT then select PRIVACY SETTINGS.

2. Once you are on the CHOOSE YOUR PRIVACY SETTINGS screen, locate CUSTOM under the SHARING ON FACEBOOK then click on the CUSTOMIZE SETTINGS.

3. On the next screen, scroll-down and locate the THINGS OTHER SHARE section then opposite the “Suggest photos of me to friends” click on EDIT SETTINGS.

4. Then on the PHOTOS: SUGGESTS TAGS screen, you will see that by default the “Suggest photos of me to friends” is ENABLED now all you need to do is to click on the ENABLED button then select DISABLED then just click on the OKAY button to accept the settings.

That should keep Facebook from recognizing your face, every time one of your friends upload a photo.
