If Acer has a Ferrari smartphone, RIM will be sporting a Porsche branded smartphone unlike the Acer Liquidmini Ferrari which is an existing Acer Smartphone painted red with the Ferrari logo, the Porsche Design P’9981 Smartphone is a collaboration between RIM and Porsche Design, and not just rebranding an existing Blackberry Torch, Bold or Curve phone.
P’9981 Smartphone uses components/materials that are not common to smartphone like forged stainless steel frame, hand-wrapped leather back cover and sculpted QWERTY keyboard. The P’9981 will also have it’s own Porsche Design UI, a bespoke Wikitude World Browser and PINs that are exclusive for P’9981 smartphone users.
