There’s nothing really surprising about this expect it’s an Apple-related new. In an article by AllThingD, it says that Apple will announce the next iPad and not sure if Apple will still call it “iPad”, we can just assume that it will be called “iPad 3″ or something to that effect. Though I cannot imagine any other name for the Apple tablet, since the name “iPad” is already well-known.
Last year Apple announced the iPad 2 (and iOS 4.3) on March 2, 2011 at Random House, Inc. in San Francisco, so it’s not surprising if Apple pick the same month (if not date) and area to announce the successor of the iPad 2. Remember Apple just had the monster quarter (a company could ever dream of), selling a whopping 15.43 million iPads and posting a quarterly revenue of $46.33 billion. So announcing the next iPad will surely be a big effect and news in the Tech community. This will also be the first major product announcement that Tim Cook will be doing without Steve Jobs.
As to what to expect to the upcoming “iPad 3″, we can just assume that all the rumors that we’ve heard and read are true or false (depending your source); same dimension, retina display (finally!) and a faster processor. Since these are rumors, we’ll just have to wait for Apple’s official announcement regarding the specs and price of iPad 3. I personally think that the best upgrade that Apple will do to the “iPad 3″ is making Siri available to the soon-to-be-announce Apple Tablet.
