The Olympics officially started last night (or earlier today) and together with the Olympic Ceremony, Apple release 3 new video ad; what’s surprising with this is that, it looks like Apple is moving away from their Apple vs PC campaign and instead focusing on the importance of the Genius boy. Rather than tapping Justin Long’s service they (Apple) instead took the service of a young commercial actor with a boy-next-door demeanor and portrays an Apple Genius Bar employee in the ad.
All 3 Mac ads focuses on the strength of the Genius Bar; they’re always there when you’re in dire need of help, how they go the extra mile to help an Apple customer (and even call the ambulance for you) and how they’re gonna tell you that you’ve been rip in the most polite and less embarrassing way. Sounds like the typical Apple ad right?
Well, let me put it this way, remember that Google Nexus 7 ad that I posted a few days ago? If that video felt like it was created by the same agency that created those iconic Apple ads, well these 3 new video from Apple felt the opposite, they’re cheap, waste of time and money and most of all it felt like the video was rushed.
If you have not seen the video, you can watch them below and you tell me if Apple failed or pass with these ads?
