Nikon Rebrands my Picturetown to “NIKON IMAGE SPACE”

On January 28, 2013 (Japan time), Nikon’s my Picturetown will be known as “NIKON IMAGE SPACE” and will have a new URL http://nikonimagespace.com, the news was announced by Nikon via press release.

Nikon’s my Picturetown is a free online digital photo storage and sharing service and by re-branding it to “NIKON IMAGE SPACE”, Nikon is trying to bring more life to the online service. Nikon did not just gave the service a better name, it gave the system a complete overhaul.

Changes made by Nikon are better and intuitive user interface (UI), seamless work flow, improved photo management and a faster system processing capabilities, for smoother, more natural operation with faster image upload and download, as well as faster response when images are manipulated.

Nikon also included a social media integration, so that users can easily share their uploaded photos to their Facebook and Twitter account.

All *my Picturetown user account information and images will be automatically transferred to “NIKON IMAGE SPACE” and will have two types of free account the Basic and Special accounts.

  • Basic accounts are available to anyone and will have a maximum storage space is 2 GB.
  • Special account are for users of Nikon digital cameras that needs a dedicated application to verify Nikon digital cameras and will have a maximum storage space of 20 GB, Also Special accounts will have more advanced functions, including the ability to apply a password when sharing images, and a function that restricts image download.

Nikon will officially unveil the service at this years CP+ 2013 camera and photo imaging show to be held January 31–February 3, 2013 at the Pacifico Yokohama.
