Newly Appointed CEO J.K. Shin during the Samsung Unpacked Event

Right after the Samsung Unpacked event at Radio City Music Hall, New York, Samsung announces the promotion of President Boo-keun Yoon and President as co-CEOs of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. as the CEO of their respective division.

Boo-keun Yoon will now be the CEO of Samsung’s Consumer Electronics Division that includes the TV and Appliance business. J.K. Shin will now be the CEO of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Communications Division that also include the mobile business which became the world’s top smartphone provider under Shin’s leadership.

Vice Chairman Oh-Hyun Kwon will remain as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, as well as the head of Samsung Electronics’ component business, that manufacture LCD screens, memory as well as processor.

Samsung said “The new leadership structure will serve to clarify and enhance independent management of the two set divisions, as well as the independent management of the set and component businesses.”

With it’s 3 CEO, Samsung will a 3 headed monster that will be able to manage each division efficiently and avoid any pit fall in the future in case one of it’s head is chopped off, since the other 2 can still take over.
