It was just the other day when Sony with Telefonica announced that they’re also developing phones for the Firefox OS, and now Sony uploaded a video showing-off an experimental version of the Firefox OS software for Xperia™ E and are looking to get “valuable community feedback” from advanced developers.
Bob Ishida, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of Products Business Group at Sony Mobile Communications said:
“At Sony Mobile, we continue to evaluate innovative technologies that can help deliver the premium user experiences that Sony’s consumers expect. Our engineers are now working with Firefox OS Mobile and HTML5, evolving technologies which show great potential.”
If you’re a the ultimate DIY person, Sony also provided steps on how to flash Firefox OS on an Xperia™ E and said Xperia™ E was a natural candidate because it has similar hardware specifications as the initial scope of the first version of Firefox OS. You just have to make sure that you are using unlocked Xperia™ E.
