Viber launches IDD calling service ViberOut and provide free service in the Philippines

In the wake of super-typhoon Haiyan or locally known as Yolanda, Viber announce what appears to a product that is still in testing – the ViberOut. Viber Out is a paid-service that lets Viber user call any non-Viber users’ phone numbers and vice versa. However, Viber said that they will provide the Viber Out Service for free only in the Philippines.

In a report by Techcrunch, Viber CEO Talmon Marco explains “that this will eventually be a premium (paid) feature available to everyone, but to help with the relief effort in the recently devastated Philippines.“.

Viber said that not all countries are supported and call quality may vary. So if your a Viber User abroad and want to use the Viber Out, just restart your phone. To call someone using this service, go to any contact in Viber and tap any of the numbers listed next to .Viber Out..
